CAPSULE DIGITAL POINT OF SALE

I designed and coordinated the development of a digital point-of-sale kiosk for Nespresso capsules in 2010.

The project involved designing both the hardware and software for the kiosk, which featured a 40-inch touchscreen display that could be used to purchase capsules, view testimonials and promotions, and access Nespresso-related content via IPTV.

One of the key challenges in this project was creating an intuitive navigation system that would make it easy for users to find what they were looking for, whether they were purchasing capsules, coffee machines or simply browsing content. To accomplish this, I had to do a lot of user testing and iterative design variations to fine-tune the interface and make it as user-friendly as possible.

Another important consideration was staying true to the Nespresso brand guidelines while still creating something that was visually appealing and engaging for users in a different channel they were used to. This involved working closely with the brand team to understand their design philosophy and incorporating their brown and gold color scheme into the kiosk’s overall design.

This was an innovative project that helped Nespresso expand its reach beyond its official shops and offer a more convenient way for customers to purchase capsules and engage with the brand.
